The House of Staunton is proud to offer the Reykjavik II Series Chess set. A full tournament-sized Chess set, it features a 3.75″ King with a 1.625″diameter base. The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a beautiful finish. The design of the Reykjavik II Chess set is an exact reproduction of the Chess set used by the legendary American Grandmaster Bobby Fischer when he won the 1972 World Chess Championship against the reigning World Champion Grandmaster Boris Spassky in Reykjavik, Iceland. The Chess set has been designed to withstand years of use (and abuse), as it lacks many of the ornate details commonly found on Chess Sets that can be susceptible to damage in the heat of battle. For example, the Chess set features reinforced Pawn collars and oversized Rook ramparts for unmatched durability. The Reykjavik II Series Chess set is ideal for those that are interested in both the historical importance of the game of Chess, as well as those looking for an attractive Chess set that is both economical and durable.
The Prestige Collection Chessmen have been crafted out of Genuine Ebony and Blood Rosewood, the two most expensive woods used by the House of Staunton in the manufacturing of Chessmen. Each of the turning squares of Blood Rosewood used to create these Chessmen has been hand selected to provide the perfect amount of contrast with their Genuine Ebony counterparts. The result is a magnificent Chess set that is as beautiful as it is functional.

The Chessmen are new and each set consists of 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard that was introduced by The House of Staunton over 10 years ago.
THE CHESSBOARD
The Superior Traditional Elm Burl / Bird’s Eye Maple wooden Chessboard with 2.25″ Squares features Elm Burl (dark) and Bird’s Eye Maple (light) squares with a Elm Burl frame. This veneered Chessboard is 0.5″ thick, has a satin finish and a beautiful moulded edge.
THE CHESSBOX
The Premium Chess Box is lined in green billiard cloth, divided and features brass quadrant hinges and a lock & key. The Premium Chess Box comes with or without the House of Staunton logo laser etched on the lid of the box.

Before shipment, all ordered items will be thoroughly examined. Most orders are now shipped within 48 hrs. Delivery is expected to take between 3 and seven days.
Returns
Stock is dynamic, and cannot be fully controlled by us because of the involvement of multiple parties including the factory and our warehouse. This means that the actual stock could alter at any time. It's possible that the stocks could be depleted after your order has been processed.
The policy is for 30 days. Unfortunately, if 30 days have passed from the date you purchased the item, we will not be able to provide a refund or exchange.
The item must not be in use and must be in the original packaging. You must have the item in the original packaging.
